Trees Knoxville will launch the Urban Forest Master Plan project on Wednesday, December 14, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Civic Coliseum. Free parking will be available at the Coliseum parking garage. Trees Knoxville is working in partnership with in partnership with City of Knoxville, Knoxville Utilities Board (KUB), Tennessee Division of Forestry, and Keep Knoxville Beautiful,

Trees play a vital role in our community by providing many environmental, social and economic benefits. Now is the time for you to give your input on the upcoming Urban Forest Master Plan, a 20- to 30-year roadmap on what the community needs to do to maintain and increase tree cover across Knoxville.

Trees Knoxville will introduce this project, its timeline and let residents know how to get involved. There will be a presentation on the current state of Knoxville’s urban forest and the results from the 2020 Urban Tree Canopy Study. Consultant Urban Canopy Works will give a presentation on the Urban Forest Master Plan that was completed in Tallahassee, Florida.

The event is open to the public, so bring your friends and family. Trees Knoxville wants to get as much input from the public as possible. The coliseum is located at 500 Howard Baker Jr. Avenue, 37915. For more information, go here.
