Knox County Schools recognized nearly 200 outstanding educators on Tuesday evening, during the annual Teacher of the Year banquet at the Knoxville Convention Center. Teachers from each school were chosen by their peers for the honor, and three district-wide winners from each grade were also recognized.

“During the last two years, Knox County educators have continued providing high-quality instruction despite significant obstacles,” said Superintendent Bob Thomas. “I am so grateful for their perseverance and dedication, and I am very proud of each of the winners that were recognized this week.”

Grade-band winners are: PreK – 4th Grade, Lauren Fevrier (pictured above), librarian, Bonny Kate Elementary; 5th – 8th Grade, Lora Williams, special education teacher, Carter Middle School; 9th – 12th Grade, Kathleen DeVinney, STEM Teacher, South-Doyle High School
