The Rotary Club of Farragut works hard … but it also has fun. And one of the really fun things on a meeting agenda is the “Induction of New Members.” March 1 was fun. Three new members were inducted into our club by President Megan Belcher.

Joining yesterday were the Rev. Chase Depew of Faith Promise Church in Farragut; Emily Lamon Justice, vice president of Lamon Jewelers; and Brian Walker, who is in the insurance business and moved to East Tennessee almost three years ago.

Bringing new members into the club is the responsibility of every current member. They come with new perspectives, new ideas, new talents and energy, and breathe new life into our clubs. New Rotarians provide more friends and extend our Rotary family, providing us with a wider network. And in Farragut Rotary, our Family of Rotary is a priority.

With their induction, the club now has 89 members. Here is some information about our newest members:

The Rev. Chase Depew: He is the campus pastor at Faith Promise Church in Farragut. Chase also is a member of the Farragut West Knox Chamber of Commerce. He grew up in East Tennessee. He and wife Lauren have four children. Chase received his undergraduate degree from Johnson University and spent his senior year as a resident at the Leadership Institute at Christ’s Church of the Valley in Phoenix, Arizona. He has more than 10 years of experience working in multi-site churches ranging from 4,000 to 28,000+ members. His hobbies are running, lifting weights, golfing and playing sports with the kids.

Emily Lamon Justice: Her middle name gives it away. She is a key member of Lamon Family Jewelry that has been in business for 40-plus years. She is vice president of purchasing at Lamon. They have been in the famous Log Cabin for many years at 7923 Kingston Pike, but in June will relocate that location to Turkey Creek at 11237 Parkside Drive in The Pinnacle shopping area. Emily earned a bachelor’s in hotel restaurant administration with a business minor from UT. Her husband, Matt, has been with Hearth and Patio for over 30 years. They have two sons. The family is active at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church. She volunteers with Random Acts of Flowers, the American Cancer Society, and is a member of the Women’s Coalition Against Cancer. Their mission is close to her heart as she is a breast cancer survivor.

Brian Walker: Brian and his wife, Jennifer, have two children in college. The Walkers moved to Knoxville three years ago from California. Brian has been an insurance agent for 22 years and covers the state of California. He also owns commercial and single-family home properties along with interests in trading crypto currencies. Brian has a master’s in business administration, is a Distinguished Toastmaster, and is a past member of the Menifee Rotary and Big Bear Rotary clubs in California. For enjoyment, Brian enjoys reading, playing the guitar and bass guitar, and riding his Harley Davidson next to Jennifer, who also rides her Harley.
