Knox County Schools will implement six early-release days for students in the 2022-23 school year, and the first will be today, Wednesday, Aug. 17.

This proposal is designed to improve student learning outcomes by providing regular, designated times for teachers to prepare lessons, evaluate student progress and receive professional development. Early-release dismissal times will be at 12:30 p.m. (Grades K-5) and 1:30 p.m. (Grades 6-12). These times are not the same as half-days, so please go here for more details.
