Farragut blog: Indoor pickleball league

The town of Farragut is offering an adult indoor doubles pickleball league this fall. Games are 5:30-9 p.m. on Thursdays, Oct. 6-Dec. 15. The cost is $50 per team. The registration deadline is Monday, Sept. 26.

Seven weeks of regular season games take place Oct. 6-Nov. 17. An end-of-season, single-elimination tournament will follow on Dec. 8 and 15. Teams are mixed doubles consisting of any combination of male and female players, and games will be self-officiated. The league is open to all skill levels, but participants must be 18 years or older.

Register online at townoffarragut.org/register, in person at the community center (239 Jamestowne Blvd.) or by phone (865-218-3376). Payment is due at the time of registration. A free community center membership is required for all players; Farragut residency is not required.

Community Center offers rentals

Stormwater mapping: The town of Farragut Engineering Department will begin a stormwater mapping project to collect data about the town’s stormwater assets beginning the week of July 11. All Farragut subdivisions will be included in the project. Contractors from CEC Inc., will be accessing stormwater structures within and adjacent to the town’s right of way. Crew members will be driving trucks marked with CEC logos. The mapping project is expected to take two years. Info: 865-966-7057.
