A student from Central High School got a happy surprise on a recent morning – an acceptance letter to the University of Tennessee.
Family members, classmates and football teammates gathered to celebrate Sammy Long’s acceptance into the UT Futures program, which helps students with disabilities make the transition to adult life. As he signed the offer, Long said it was an emotional moment for him, and urged his football teammates to bring back a state championship next year.
