David Lee, a community leader in East Knoxville was recently nominated along with three others for the Diana Conn Good Neighbor of the Year award. While David did not win the final award, his Town Hall East community recognizes David’s continuing contributions to their neighborhood to make East Knoxville a great place to live.

David’s nomination packet contained individual recognitions from area groups and leaders including the Town Hall East Neighborhood Association Board, Barred Owls Group, Trees Knoxville, Knox County Master Gardeners and state Rep. Sam McKenzie and East Knoxville neighbors.

As an influential community leader, David Lee is playing a crucial role in shaping and guiding the East Knoxville community. One nominator reminds that David was “instrumental in the creation of Tank Strickland Park and has taken the lead maintaining this community green space, most recently securing a grant for additional trees along with taking the lead for plantings.”

David demonstrates the ability to inspire and motivate people, bringing positive change while addressing the needs and concerns of the community.

Another nominator stated, “David has shown the ability to fight for and put long hours into causes that he may not feel strongly about, but others do. By doing this, he is showing a level of caring and respect for his neighbors that few can do.”

David’s dedication and passion for the community is truly inspiring.
