County crews log 75 road repairs

Last week, we had a crew out at the Knox County Detention Facility paving the road around the newly-built virtual courtroom.

We had a crew in District 7 correcting a sight distance issue. The crew cut a bank back to help with visibility getting out of a driveway.

Paving on Kimberlin Heights Road should finish up next week weather permitting. This is a 9-mile stretch of road one way and is using 14,500 tons of asphalt.

Some quick work stats:

  • 75 road repairs
  • 16 debris removals
  • 10 pipe/culvert cleanings
  • 8 ditch cleanings
  • 1 tree removal

The first round of public meetings for Advance Knox is coming up! Ideas Week is scheduled for March 27-30. The workshops will last approximately 90 minutes and will introduce the community to the project. Participants will work in small groups to generate ideas and participate in map-based activities. The workshops will be hosted at seven locations throughout Knox County and community members are encouraged to attend the event most convenient to them.
