Free BBQ pork or chicken sandwich to the first 500 customers at Archer’s BBQ in Karns only starting at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27. It’s customer appreciation day to celebrate Archer’s seventh year in Knoxville. The Karns store is at 7650 Oak Ridge Highway.
Also, in Karns, Archer’s will sponsor a chocolate chip cookie eating contest starting at 2 p.m. to the first 10 entrants. Each contestant will get five pounds of cookies plus milk. The first to finish or whoever eats the most in 30 minutes will receive a $100 gift certificate to Archer’s.
Managing partner Archer Bagley says the current world record is held by Tom “Goose” Gilbert who ate 5.125 pounds of cookies in six minutes.
