  • Bob Thomas and Ed Brantley, Knox County commissioners at-large, will be ringing the bells for the Salvation Army 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, at the Sears entrance to West Town Mall, 7600 Kingston Pike. This event will be the commissioners’ 35th monthly Ed and Bob Night Out. All are invited to stop by to chat.
  • Brandon Bruce, COO and co-founder of software startup Cirrus Insight, made the Wall Street Journal. He was quoted in a staff report on how companies will handle holiday parties this year. Bruce said he’s not worried about misbehavior, but he plans to host his staff holiday party at a children’s science museum so that colleagues can bond and have fun in a family setting. Bruce was a candidate for Knoxville City Council this year from District 2.
