  • Scott Frith, attorney and former Realtor, is engaged to Bridget McCullough and hopes to join her in Philadelphia in January. Scott says he’s excited about the New Year and new beginnings.
  • Duane Grieve is the new executive director of the East Tennessee Community Design Center, reports the MoxCar Minute. Grieve is currently Knoxville’s vice mayor and a two-term member of Knoxville City Council where he is term-limited and will leave office Dec. 16.
  • GruJo’s, the German fast-food restaurant, is returning to North Knox County. New owners have applied for an on-premises beer permit at 1336 E. Emory Road. The restaurant was formerly located at the corner of Emory Road and Dry Gap Pike, a location now occupied by Stock Burgers.
  • Pero’s is now hiring for its second location. This time on Conner Road in the former location of Aubrey’s Restaurant, which relocated to a new building on Emory Road near Central Avenue Pike.
  • Fountain City will light the community Christmas tree at 6 p.m. today (Dec. 8) at the gazebo in Fountain City Park. There will be live seasonal music, hot chocolate and cookies. Santa is expected. Sponsored by the Fountain City Lions Club and Fountain City Town Hall.
