- Thanksgiving closings: Knox County government offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 23-24; the county’s solid waste convenience centers will be closed Thursday, but open regular hours on Friday and Saturday. Branch libraries will be closed Thursday and Friday, but open regular hours on Saturday, Nov. 25.
- Fountain City BPA will present its annual Claude C. Myers award for businessperson of the year at its annual after-hours networking event, 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, at Commercial Bank, 5320 N. Broadway. Admission is free for members and guests with prize tickets for $1.
- Halls BPA holiday gala is Friday, Dec. 1, at Beaver Brook Country Club. Tickets are $60. Halls’ Man and Woman of the Year will be presented and officers for 2018 installed. The speaker is former UT quarterback Erik Ainge.
- Powell BPA 35th annual Man, Woman and Business Person of the Year banquet is set for 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at Tennova North. The speaker will be Joan Cronan.
