Eric Weatherbee is the executive director of the Knoxville Track Club. He had served as interim director since January. The announcement came from Brian Huskey, president of the KTC board of directors.
“Eric has been a member of KTC for many years, has run and volunteered at countless races and has served as director on our board. He brings a strong background of nonprofit service and professional experience to the organization,” Huskey said. “I am confident he can build upon our 60-year history to grow the club on the road, on the track and on the trails. He brings a ton of energy to the job along with new ideas to help us take those next steps.”
The Knoxville Track Club is a nonprofit that organizes races and speaks for the local running community. It offers opportunities for all runners – elite to first-timers – to train, race, socialize and volunteer. Imagine how many volunteer hours have formed the 60-year history of the club.
The Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon is the premier event of the Knoxville Track Club. It includes a marathon, relay, half marathon, 5k and kids run.
Weatherbee is eager to get to work, “ensuring KTC remains one of the premier running clubs in the country for years to come.”
