  • Donald Trump has named a commission to study voter fraud, and that commission has requested comprehensive data – name, address, last four digits of Social Security number – of registered voters from all 50 states. Today, Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett declined, saying state law does not allow his office to release the information. New York also declined today, joining California, Massachusetts, Virginia and Kentucky.
  • Walmart is the most popular store in America, according to 24/7 Wall Street, with 56.4 percent of USA consumers visiting Walmart in April. Next come McDonalds, 54.8 percent; Subway, 39 percent; Starbucks, 35.5 percent and Walgreens, 35.1 percent.   • Commissioner Dave Wright was at the Fountain City Post Office on Thursday, mailing notice of candidacy and appointment of a treasurer (Les Spitzer) to run for state representative from District 19. Rep. Harry Brooks announced Wednesday that he won’t run for re-election. Wright said if elected he would step down with a year and three months remaining on his commission term.
