Three upcoming events will give South Knoxvillians an opportunity to meet with their elected officials as well as candidates for upcoming elections.
On Tuesday, Jan. 30, Knox County Commissioner Carson Dailey will have his monthly “Ask the Commissioner” gathering at G&D Market & Deli, 612 Tipton Station Road. Dailey encourages all constituents to come talk about any concerns or suggestions they have, and if they want to support a small SoKno eatery at the same time, all the better.
On Saturday, Feb. 3, officials who represent South Knoxville at the state and local levels will hold a town hall meeting at South-Doyle Middle School, 3900 Decatur Drive. The event will take place 9-11 a.m. in the school library.
State Sen. Becky Massey, state Reps. Rick Staples, Eddie Smith and Harry Brooks, First District City Council member Stephanie Welch, Ninth District County Commissioner Carson Dailey and Ninth District Board of Education representative Amber Rountree will present updates on SoKno projects and participate in a question-and-answer session.
On Monday, March 5, the South Knoxville Alliance will hold a Meet & Greet to let the public become acquainted with candidates for Knox County mayor and Knox County sheriff. The event starts at 6 p.m. at Dogwood Elementary Community School, 705 Tipton Ave. Refreshments will be served.
