West Hills, Fountain City plan holiday fun

Thursday, Dec. 9, 5-7 p.m.

Lighting of the Gazebo in West Hills/John Bynon Park with the First Annual Tour de Lights Ride through the Park. Meet at the Gazebo on Winston Road to participate. Bring the family with decorated bikes, strollers, skateboards and/or wagons. Or decorate yourself and walk the 0.8 mile path.

There will be hot chocolate and Santa in the Gazebo, and a food truck will be available for purchasing dinner. The Tour de Lights will take place about 6 p.m. Participants are required to sign a waiver.

Friday, Dec. 10, 5-8 p.m.

Old Timey Fountain City Christmas at Fountain City Park. There will be Christmas shopping in the Fountain City Lions Club Building on the park grounds. Music from the Central High School band starts at 5:30 p.m. Christmas carols with Central High School chorus and tree lighting is at 6 p.m. at the gazebo.

There will be free hot chocolate and cookies with Santa. The event is free. Participants are asked to bring toiletry items, diapers (child and adult) and donations for the Fountain City Ministry Center. A free shuttle bus will run from Central High School to the park from 5-8 p.m.
