Technical training at PSCC

Pellissippi State Community College has released its February schedule of technical training:

  • NFPA 70E – Thursday, Feb. 3, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Hardin Valley campus. Heighten your team’s awareness for electrical safety, learn best practices and stay up-to-date on industry standards and OSHA requirements.
  • Industrial Maintenance Electrical – Monday-Friday, Feb. 7-11, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Strawberry Plains campus. Get an introduction to applications of electricity in production machinery in this immersive, five-day class. Learn the basic operating principles of electricity and advance your knowledge with how to analyze the measurable properties of electrical circuits, how to perform electrical maintenance in the workplace and how to read electrical blueprints. Hands-on exercises provide the opportunity to observe and troubleshoot various circuits.
  • Industrial Welding for Beginners – Tuesdays, Feb. 15-April 19, 5:30-9:30 p.m., Strawberry Plains campus. In this 40-hour training, we’ll teach the skills needed to apply for entry level welding jobs. Get an introduction to shielded metal arc (stick welding), GMAW-MIG and GTAW-TIG welding techniques with ample hands-on practice time to perfect your skills. Participants will also learn the proper procedures for brazing and cutting with welding equipment and safety protocols.
Apprenticeships

Workforce redefined, a virtual event, 9-10 a.m. Wednesday, February 9, a panel discussion about apprenticeships and their role in workforce development. Learn more and register on Eventbrite.

Possible data breach 

Pellissippi State Community College has notified students and staff that a December 2021 data security incident may have resulted in unauthorized access to, or acquisition of, some personal information of former and current students, faculty and staff.

Pellissippi State has sent email notices to all individuals with email addresses in its database. This email included a code to sign up for the credit monitoring service. If you did not receive a code and believe you may have been affected or if you have questions, please contact the toll-free hotline at 1-855-604-1808 between Feb. 2 and May 2 or email cyberresponse@pstcc.edu.
