Knox County school board has set a called meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, to discuss and vote on the school system’s budget for fiscal year 2021. The meeting will be held on the first floor of the Andrew Johnson Building, 912 S. Gay Street. Public seating will be limited due to physical distancing guidelines. Individuals wishing to speak should contact the board secretary at 865-594-1630 prior to 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 26. You may submit comments to boardcomments@knoxschools.org.
First Horizon has awarded $5,000 to the Women’s Fund of East Tennessee. Courtney Potts made the announcement on Linkedin. Attendees at the Women of Influence luncheon at Cherokee Country Club in early March were asked to review three nonprofits that support the needs of women and girls and vote for the one most deserving of a $5,000 award from the First Horizon Foundation. The Women’s Fund of East Tennessee was chosen.
