‘Spring Concert’ is Friday in Fountain City

The Knoxville Chamber Chorale of the Knoxville Choral Society, led by Dr. John Orr, will present their Spring Concert on Friday, May 5, at 7 p.m. at Fountain City United Methodist Church, 212 Hotel Ave.

Admission is free.

The program aims to showcase the ensemble’s diversity of styles and the wide range of choral music being performed today. The repertoire comprises pieces from the 16th century, several from choral masters such as Bach and Bruckner, as well as modern settings of poets like Robert Frost and Sara Teasdale.

Additionally, the program features a captivating musical adaptation of Margaret Wise Brown’s childhood classic, “Goodnight Moon,” composed by contemporary composer Eric Whitacre. The concert also includes contemporary Americana arrangements of songs by Ruthie Foster and Bob Dylan. Overall, this concert highlights the Knoxville Chamber Chorale’s versatility in performing various styles of choral music.
