SoKno Taco turns 1

SoKno Taco Cantina is celebrating its first birthday this week with fun activities and food and drink specials all week, starting Monday, Feb. 26.

The official anniversary is Thursday, March 1. SoKno Taco will have Singo at 8 p.m., complete with prizes. The restaurant’s SoKno Social on Wednesday, which will benefit Shangri-La Therapeutic Academy of Riding, will feature a special metal artwork of a horse by Wild About Metal in a giveaway. Prizes will start at 7 p.m.

At 1 p.m. Saturday, March 3, there will be a scavenger hunt bike ride through South Knoxville. Registration is $15, and 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the Appalachian Mountain Bike Club, which is the major force in building trails in SoKno. The registration fee pays for entry to the ride, an anniversary shirt, a taco platter, Yee-Haw beer and koozie.

Ask the Commissioner

County Commissioner Carson Dailey’s monthly “Ask the Commissioner” meeting will be at Love That BBQ, 1901 Maryville Pike, on Tuesday, Feb. 27. Dailey will be on hand to share updates with SoKno residents and answer any questions from 5-7 p.m.
