Mark your calendars for Wednesday, Sept. 27, when SoKno Taco Cantina, 3701 Sevierville Pike, will host a SoKno Social to raise funds for South Knox schools.

There will be taco specials from 11 a.m. till the kitchen closes at 10 p.m. and drink specials all day and night. Representatives from SoKno schools will be on hand in the evening to help with prize drawings, for which people can register all month long.

This will be the fourth SoKno Social for SoKno Taco; the fundraiser takes place on the last Wednesday of each month. Previous events have benefited the Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley, Tennessee Clean Water Network and Legacy Parks Foundation, with proceeds from purchases of the specials going to the designated organization.

“We do this every month to give back to the community,” said general manager Ryan Steffy. “The bartenders come up with the drinks, and the guys in the kitchen come up with ideas for different tacos.”

Steffy says the restaurant keeps the specials under wraps until the day to make sure they’re a surprise, but they’re always imaginative and delicious.
