Ridgedale School in northwest Knox County can replace its gardening tools, which were reported stolen last week in a story by Tom King here.

Knox County Commissioner Randy Smith, who represents the area, contacted Knox TN Today this afternoon to report he had dropped off a check for $500 from his community funds. “Without Tom King’s report, I would have never known that Ridgedale had their gardening tools stolen,” he wrote.

When he dropped off the check, he noticed the lack of a traffic signal at the school’s entrance. He talked about that with principal Diana Gossett. Ridgedale School has found a friend.
