Pool party for dogs

This weekend, Saturday, September 7, 2024, there will be an epic dog pool party from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Allen Rosen Aquatic Center, located at the Arnstein Jewish Community Center, 6800 Deane Hill Dr., Knoxville, Tennessee.

The third annual Pooch Plunge fundraiser benefits the AJCC Smokin’ Salmon community swim team.

Event coordinator Dr. Kaleigh McVety, veterinarian and swim team parent, says “Everyone is welcome whether they do or do not have a doggy escort so please come out and enjoy yourselves while donating to a great cause!”

The center features a large pool for the avid swimmer, a small and separately fenced shallow baby pool for smaller breeds, and a large grassy area for the pups that wish for a less drenching experience.

Humans will have music, beverages, food truck, vendors and more. More information and registration are available here

Smokin’ Salmon swim team is a family-oriented summer swim program for ages 5-18 hosted by the Knoxville Jewish Alliance. Swimmers work toward achieving their fullest potential while supporting and encouraging their teammates. We provide a great coach-to-swimmer ratio to ensure that each swimmer is given the personal attention, instruction, encouragement needed to reach his/her potential.
