Library gets Rotary boost

The library at Sarah Moore Greene Magnet Academy got a boost in August as a team from the Volunteer Rotary Club donated books, furniture and computer equipment valued at $6,300. Librarian Rachel Thompson said the club has helped before and their help is much appreciated.

Jim Holleman seems surprised by a book.

Rotary club member Jeff Talman called to report the project, but he was unable to attend. The club members stopped by after school to deliver and install the gifts. Participants included Jim Holleman, John Ley, Rob Dansereau, Tanisha Baker, Steve Carr and David Hall.

Last year the club provided backpacks for students at SMG, and Volunteer Rotary has sponsored a reading program at the school for 10-plus years.
