Knox County plans sidewalks east and west

Jay FitzEast Knox, Karns/Hardin Valley

The Knox County Engineering and Public Works Department will host two meetings – one for the Carter community and one for the Hardin Valley community – to seek public input and go over a proposed sidewalk plan to help alleviate congested school zones that are close to homes, businesses, parks and other schools.

For example, the Carter sidewalk meeting will present a plan to connect the elementary, middle and high schools with the surrounding neighborhoods, nearby commercial and retail businesses, as well as a park, library and senior center.

The Carter Sidewalk Meeting will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, at the Carter Library.

The Hardin Valley Sidewalk Meeting will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, in the Hardin Valley Middle School Cafeteria.

Both meeting are open house formats so people can come and go as they please and ask whatever questions they want. No vote will be taken at either meeting, as they are information gathering sessions only.
