Three community groups will co-sponsor a gathering 1-2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, in Krutch Park extension downtown. Sponsors want to give residents a peaceful, non-violent opportunity to show the world that we stand for the core values of love, justice and human dignity, according to the email from Compassion Coalition, one of the sponsors.

Other sponsors are the Arts & Culture Alliance of Greater Knoxville and the Alliance for Better Nonprofits, whose CEO, Dr. Jerry Askew, will speak.

Liza Zenni of the Arts Alliance said the rally is intended to give people who seek an outlet to express support for their fellow Knoxvillians a peaceful, safe and supportive place to gather and reach out to one another in word and song.
