Kids event this weekend at Ramsey House

Come celebrate with some good old-fashioned fun as Knoxville Vintage Base Ball hosts an End of Summer Kids Day this Saturday, August 6, at Historic Ramsey House.

One of Knoxville’s vintage baseball teams, the Emmett Machinists, will take on the Quicksteps of Spring Hill at noon. Kids games will be played between innings, other special activities will take place on the sidelines, and prizes will be awarded. A full kids’ game schedule is coming soon.

This is a free event for the entire family. As always, concessions will be available, and all proceeds will go directly to the ongoing preservation of Historic Ramsey House. Make sure to bring a chair and a shady umbrella or tent.

Volunteers are needed for this event. Anyone interested in helping with the concessions stand on this day, follow this link to find more information and sign up.

The Tennessee Vintage Base Ball Association promotes living history by bringing the 19th century to life through baseball events that use the rules, equipment, costumes and culture of the 1860s. Their goal is to exemplify, to youth and adults alike, the values that are lacking in modern-day athletic programs, and encourage a sense of belonging, regardless of race, gender, religious conviction or physical ability.
