Three district students recently won iPads as part of a competition to design light-switch stickers that promote energy savings!

The contest was coordinated by the KCS Art Department and Maintenance & Operations Department, in conjunction with Trane, which is leading the system’s LED lighting upgrade project. Students were asked to create hand-drawn designs that remind facility users to turn off the lights in unoccupied areas.

The grand prize winners are:

  • Megan McElroy / 9th grade, Hardin Valley Academy;
  • Iker Dominguez / 2nd grade, Cedar Bluff Elementary; and
  • Abigayle Lundberg / 8th grade, West Valley Middle.
