Join the crew at Ijams Nature Center at 9 a.m. for Beginning to Bird – Hawk Migration. This month, learn how to identify hawks from hundreds of yards away. Broadwing hawks are currently undergoing an impressive migration, and they are readily identified in flight. The session will highlight places to go and view this migration, which usually peaks around September 20 with hundreds of broadwing hawks being seen in a single day. Spend time with Ijams’ resident red-tailed hawk to learn more about these birds’ anatomy up close.  Cost is $8. For more info or to register go here or call 865-577-4717, ext. 127.
