Halls High School football fans rallied behind the team on Friday, hoping to build on the last two years of post-season play. Alas, the visiting Powell Panthers grabbed a 26-15 win to spoil the Red Devils’ season opener.

It was standing room only for the first game on Halls’ new turf field, a gift from the Haslam Foundation and Pilot Flying J. Community members pitched in to completely restore the press box.

Halls High School principal Mark Duff leads the pledge to the flag prior to Friday’s game.

Tailback Cooper Cook (No. 6) looks to gain yardage against Powell’s Bailor Walker.
