Girl Scout STEM badge day in Bristol

Girl Scouts of the Southern Appalachians will offer a day of STEM workshops at the King University campus in Bristol. Workshops will run 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, with lunch provided. Attendees can earn two STEM badges.

All Girl Scouts attending this event will earn a King University patch and a King University Women in STEM T-shirt. Juniors will earn the cybersecurity investigator badge and coding basics badge. Cadettes will earn the cybersecurity basics badge and coding basics badge.

The United States STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) gap is widening each year with a projected two million unfilled jobs by 2025.
