Fans of the Harry Potter series came out to enjoy a members-only Family Fun Night at The Muse on Friday evening. After they entered through the famous Platform 9 3/4, children were sorted into one of the four houses of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In order to be fair, houses were chosen at random out of the Sorting Hat.

Throughout the night, children and their families participated in various activities in order to earn points for their houses. A scavenger hunt was held, with items spread out throughout the museum. The entire museum was open, meaning that the normal activities were available in addition to the Harry Potter activities.

Patrons were able to watch some of the Harry Potter movies in a very unique way, by viewing them in the planetarium. They were also able to make their own wands, play Harry Potter bingo, make and drink Butterbeer from root beer, and even take part in trivia.

The Muse’s program coordinator, Melody Cox, led the three trivia rounds. She also announced the winner of the costume contest at the end of the evening. After much deliberation, the judges chose Abbie Taylor as the winner, for her spot-on Mrs. Weasley costume.
