Five CAK athletes sign for college sports

Five varsity athletes from Christian Academy of Knoxville (CAK) signed Feb. 1, 2023, to play at the collegiate level. Ried Estus is director of athletics at CAK.

Keira Leffew is going to Lee University to play basketball. She was a 4-year member and starter at CAK where the team advanced to the state semi-finals in 2022. She was named three times All-District, three times All-District Tournament, and two times All-Region Tournament. She was MVP in the district and regional tournaments in 2022 and an all-state selection for 2023. For the BCAT All-Stars, she is the third all-time leading scorer with 1,600+ points and all-time leading rebounder with 900+ rebounds.

Aaron Bobo will play baseball at Carson Newman University. He was a 4-year member of the varsity baseball team at CAK and a 2-year starting pitcher. CAK baseball was region champions in 2021 and 2022 and district champs in 2021. Bobo was named All-District Pitcher in 2022.

JK Hamilton will play baseball at Dyersburg State Community College. He is a 2-year member of the varsity team district championship team, 2022.

Luke Jones is headed to Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee, for baseball. He played on the CAK baseball state finalists in 2021 and was named All-District in 2022. The 4-year varsity pitcher was on the regional championship team in 2021.

Josh Price will play baseball at Roane State Community College. Price is a 4-year member of the baseball team and a 2-year varsity starter for the region championship team in 2021 and the district championship team in 2022.
