The Democratic Women of Knoxville enjoyed their annual tail gate fundraiser for Mobile Meals. This is the 16th year that the organization has paid for one or more seniors to receive mobile meals for a year.
Members have developed specialties: Cathie Brewer is the chili maker, assisted by Linda Sharp. Sandy Wells bakes apple pies and cobblers.
The group meets each first Monday at the Knoxville Oak Ridge Labor Union Office, 1522 Bill Williams Ave. Lunch begins at 11:30 and the meeting is noon-1 p.m. Newcomers are always welcomed.
