Dawn of the Dinosaurs at Zoo Knoxville

Zoo Knoxville is preparing for a special event millions of years in the making. Dawn of the Dinosaurs presented by Chick-fil-A Knoxville will feature lifelike dinos that move, roar and spit beginning today, March 1, through September 4, 2023.

Guests will experience 17 species of “terrible lizards” that lived during the Mesozoic era, 245 to 65.5 million years ago, including the fascinating feathered Utahraptor, a towering Brachiosaurus, and a Tyrannosaurus Rex with a roar that rumbles!

Dawn of the Dinosaurs tells the story of the ancestors of today’s birds and crocodiles and how a catastrophic asteroid impact 65 million years ago caused one of Earth’s major mass extinctions. During this special exhibition, visitors can learn about the living descendants of dinosaurs and how modern animals evolved similar characteristics.

Dawn of the Dinosaurs is included as part of a general admission ticket and free for Zoo Knoxville members. For more information, visit the zoo’s website or follow @zooknoxville on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok.

Dawn of the Dinosaurs is produced by Billings Productions Inc. a world leader in animatronic exhibits for zoos, museums, botanic gardens and theme parks. Special thanks to our presenting sponsor Chick-fil-A Knoxville.
