Tickets are on sale now for the Knoxville Children’s Theatre’s production of “The Scarlet Letter.” Based on the novel by Nathaniel Hawthorne, Hester Prynne has committed an inexcusable crime and has confounded her prosecutors by refusing to name her partner in sin. But the man who allows her to protect him suffers more from pangs of conscience than he would have from public humiliation. The climax shows the timeless truth that compassion and understanding are forever more powerful than vengeance and cruelty.

Tickets range from $12 to $15. The show runs from Oct. 29-Nov. 14, Thursday-Sunday. Thursday and Friday shows are at 7 p.m. Saturday shows are at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday shows are at 3 p.m.
