Christian Academy of Knoxville senior Matthew Murray began to dream big when his turn came to decide upon the required Capstone Project for his final year as a Warrior. He didn’t want to do just anything. He wanted to do something that touched many lives.

“Worship Night Knoxville is a free event for everyone,” says Murray. “It’s at World’s Fair Park and it’s a real concert with a headliner, full stage and sound, food trucks and just a great time.”

The project is one that many adults would struggle to pull off, but Murray has already raised over $20,000 to make the project a success.

“I’m just blown away by what God is doing through him,” says Missy Standifer, CAK director of community outreach and discipleship. “This is going to be an amazing event blessing many people.”

Worship Night Knoxville takes place on Saturday, Aug. 21, at 6 p.m. No ticket is required. It is advised to bring your own lawn chair or blanket. Food trucks will be open starting at 5 p.m. and there will also be giveaways. The concert features headliner Chris McClarney, whose powerful anthem “Your Love Never Fails” has become one of the most popular songs in churches nationwide. It’s also a No. 1 song on the Christian Billboard Chart. Special guests also include Christen Ball and Woodside Band.

“We hope people will come out for a great night of worship, food, fellowship and song and just experience the Lord,” says Matthew. “That’s really what this is all about – a night of worship in Knoxville for everyone.”
