Blount Mansion, located at 200 W. Hill Ave., hosted a neat Christmas Party and Cynthia Moxley was there.
Built in 1792, the house was home to William Blount, a signer of the U.S. Constitution who was appointed by President George Washington to be governor of what was then known as the “Territory of the United States South of the River Ohio,” part of which later would become the state of Tennessee.
If you’ve not yet read The Blue Streak, get prepared for Moxley’s cryptic observations, such as her opinion of the territory name: “Not the most creative name I’ve ever heard.”
Guess George Washington didn’t have Moxley Carmichael.
