Time sure flies by. It’s already past the middle of May, and the start of summer break is here!

During the third week of May, property transfers increased from 203 the prior week to 291. The total of these transfers was $75.65 million. A transfer between Timothy Neal and Mesana Investments LLC was the largest at $1.75 million for property on Asheville Highway in East Knoxville.

Some 350 loans with a total amount of $166.8 million were recorded during the week. The largest of these, at $70.74 million, was between HIT Portfolio I Owner LLC and Morgan Stanley Bank, et al., for the Marriott Residence Inn at Langley Place and other properties located within the state.

Our office will be closed in observance of Memorial Day next Monday. Please take time to remember and honor those brave individuals who passed away while serving in the U.S. military. Did you know that this holiday was introduced after the Civil War and was originally called Decoration Day? It was adopted as a federal holiday in 1971. In 2000, Congress passed the National Moment of Remembrance, which encourages people to stop and remember the fallen at 3 p.m. local time on Memorial Day. We are so grateful for their ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
