Knox County Sheriff’s Office patrol and major crimes units are seeking a suspect in a late morning shooting Thursday (12/22) behind Rural King in Halls.

Sheriff Tom Spangler said the suspect remained at large Thursday evening, and KCSO is working to identify the suspect. He’s asking nearby businesses and homeowners to take safety precautions and stay vigilant. “We are asking everyone to avoid the area of the shooting. We have minimal information and will update you as more becomes available.”

After interviewing witnesses, the Sheriff’s Office released this description:

Possibly in dark gray sweat pants or light gray shorts, carrying a blue backpack, and wearing blue and white tennis shoes. The suspect could be wearing a toboggan.
