Lavonda Cantrell helps bridge the gap

Lavonda Cantrell serves as our director of marketing and special projects as well as vice president of the Hillcrest Healthcare Foundation. Bridge the Gap the Senior Living Podcast recently named Cantrell and 14 other leaders across the country as a 2021 ambassador.

Bridge the Gap aims to “help shape the culture of the senior living industry by being an advocate and a positive voice of influence which drives quality outcomes for our aging population.”

“Senior healthcare is my passion and my purpose,” Lavonda said. “I love learning and growing as a healthcare professional because the industry is constantly changing. Soon we will be serving more seniors than ever before, and I am honored to be selected as a Bridge the Gap ambassador to spread the word and the mission of this great organization.”

Doug Bryant educates for veterans

Hillcrest Healthcare’s Director of Human Resources Doug Bryant welcomed an invitation to return to the Disney Institute to lead a class at the Veterans Institute Summit in September 2021.

Disney Institute helps professionals and organizations learn how to leverage business practices used by Disney parks and resorts. The Veterans Institute Summit is a free event aimed to help companies build effective veteran hiring programs.

Summit topics will come from Disney’s own Heroes Work Here initiative as well as advice from experts and firsthand accounts from veterans about transitioning to the civilian workforce. Both in-person and virtual sessions will be available.
