  • Richard Petty, seven-time NASCAR champion and spokesperson for Mission ABLE will be at the Food City, 1000 Ladd Landing Blvd., Kingston, from 3-5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, to meet with customers and store associates. Petty’s visit recognizes the store’s leadership in raising funds for the campaign to benefit Paralyzed Veterans of America.
  • Fountain City will light the community Christmas tree at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at the gazebo in Fountain City Park. There will be live seasonal music, hot chocolate and cookies. Santa is expected. The event is co-sponsored by the Fountain City Lions Club and Fountain City Town Hall.
  • Fountain City BPA will present its annual Claude C. Myers award for businessperson of the year at its annual after-hours networking event, 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, at Commercial Bank, 5320 N. Broadway. Admission is free for members and guests with prize tickets for $1 and numerous silent auction items. Officers for 2018 will be introduced.

  • Powell BPA 35th annual Man, Woman and Business Person of the Year banquet is set for 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at Tennova North. The speaker will be Joan Cronan.   • Wild Wings is coming to Powell. Knox County Commission has approved the on-premises beer permit for KPow Wings LLC, owner of the new location at 119 E. Emory Road. The applicant said the local restaurant should open in mid-December.
