  • Anne Hart, noted local journalist and all-around good soul, has died. Anne is a Chattanooga native and graveside services will be held there. We’ll post additional details as they come available.
  • Terra Madre’s eighth annual holiday sale will be Friday and Saturday, Nov. 10-11, at Bridgewater Place, 205 Bridgewater Road. The “women in clay” exhibits will be open from 5-8 p.m. on Friday and from 10 to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Info here.
  • Linda Billman is stepping down as general manager of WDVX bluegrass radio station, effective February 2018. WDVX is celebrating its 20th anniversary and Billman has been a part of the station for 15 years.
  • Robyn McAdoo has been appointed by Mayor Madeline Rogero to serve on the board of commissioners for Knoxville’s Community Development Corporation (KCDC). McAdoo, who works for Dollar & Ewers Architecture, earned her bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Tennessee in 2001. She and her family live in West Hills.
  • Ken Gross has endorsed state Rep. Jimmy Matlock for Congress after dropping out of the race himself. Gross said Matlock will “vote the conscience of this district.”
  • The Salvation Army will kick off its annual Red Kettle Campaign on Friday, Nov. 10, across its six-county service area. This year’s goal is eight percent higher than the total raised in last year’s campaign. Leaders are seeking volunteer bell ringers as well as hired bell ringers to help fill the locations and shifts that are not popular with volunteers to help the campaign to reach its goal. The Salvation Army is hosting hiring sessions from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2-4 p.m. each Wednesday at its N. Broadway campus. Info: 865-525-9401.
