- Thanksgiving closings: Knox County government offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 23-24; the county's solid waste convenience centers will be closed Thursday, but open regular hours on Friday and Saturday. Branch libraries will be closed Thursday and Friday, but open regular hours on Saturday, Nov. 25.
- Fountain City BPA will present its annual Claude C. Myers award for businessperson of the year at its annual after-hours networking event, 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, at Commercial Bank, 5320 N. Broadway. Admission is free for members and guests with prize tickets for $1.
