The Gibbs High School Foundation has awarded its first annual Career and Technical Education scholarships to students in the CTE program at Gibbs High.

Scholarships of $500 were awarded to two students: Andrew Webber in auto repair and Ahvana Bell in nursing. These students were chosen by the teachers in the CTE programs for their outstanding work.

Ahvana has already attained her CNA and will be employed while working toward an RN degree. Andrew will also begin working at a trucking company. The money from the scholarships may be used to purchase items that are needed in their work environments such as tools and uniforms.

The GHS Foundation is continuing to support the needs of Gibbs High. Anyone wishing to learn more about the Gibbs High School Foundation can find information on their website and Facebook page.
