Powell to celebrate the 4th

Powell’s annual 4th of July Parade will step off from Powell Place parking lot at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 4. Info: TNPowellLions@gmail.com

Powell Lions Club president Diane Wilkerson says the parade will have a grand marshal and a color guard. Candy may be passed out. ATVs are not allowed unless pulling a trailer.

Participants should be in the parking lot no later than 10 a.m. to arrange for lineup. The parade will march down Emory Road and turn right at Brickyard Road. Extra cars may be parked in the lot behind Powell High School for those who are in the parade.

After the parade, stop by Powell Station Park at the splash pad for free food and treats, sponsored by the Powell Business & Professional Association. Organizer Laura Bailey said veterans will be honored at this patriotic event. It’s free and everyone is invited.
