HPUD to interview for commissioner

Hallsdale-Powell Utility District (HPUD) is now accepting applications for possible nomination as a member of the HPUD Board of Commissioners. HPUD’s board is comprised of three commissioners, who are each appointed by the Knox County mayor for a staggered four-year term from a list of three nominees selected by the current HPUD board.

HPUD is one of Tennessee’s largest utility districts, providing water and wastewater service to over 30,000 customers in the north Knox County area (including portions of Union and Anderson counties) with an operating budget in excess of $30.8 million for its most recent fiscal year and a current capital budget in excess of $19.1 million. Applicants must be at least 25 years old and either an HPUD customer within the district’s boundaries or reside within the utility district’s boundaries.

Applications for possible nomination to the HPUD Board of Commissioners may be obtained at HPUD’s main office at 3745 Cunningham Rd., Knoxville, Tennessee 37918; by calling HPUD at 865-922-7547; or on HPUD’s web site www.hpud.org. Completed applications must be returned to HPUD’s main office no later than 4 p.m. Friday, June 30.
