Those in the know, daddy-o, are hep to the Knox County Museum of Education. It’s a treasure trove of school memorabilia, especially from the good ol’ brain factories that have gone the way of the dodo.

To keep the museum happening like the jitterbug, you’ll want to head over to “An Old-Fashioned Sock Hop,” the third annual fundraiser for the museum. It’s coming your way, 6:30-9:30 p.m. Friday, June 2, at Historic South High School, aka the Sarah Simpson Professional Development Technology Center, 801 Tipton Ave.

There’ll be food, fun and dancing, with live music provided by Free Spirit II. DJs Bill and John of the Pro Audio Group will spin tunes on the magic platters.

Tickets, $25 each, are available at the museum (at Sarah Simpson Center), the Knox County Teachers Federal Credit Union, Knoxville Teachers Federal Credit Union, www.knoxschools.org/museum and at the door.

Be there or be square!
