This statement was provided by Lenoir City Utilities Board (LCUB) Sunday at 11:50 a.m.

The LCUB service area experienced substantial damage. Last night 15,000 customers were without power and we’re down to 5,000. Those remaining effected areas require extensive repairs, including replacing poles. We have called in contract crews to assist us and more are on their way from out of town. We’re working as quickly as possible but it could be as late as tomorrow night before power is fully restored.

The heaviest hit areas include: Choto Rd, Hwy 11 and Ford Rd area, Hickory Creek area, Tooles Bend area, Buttermilk East and Hwy. 70 in Lenoir City.

Please be sure to report outages by calling our automated system: 1-844-OUR-LCUB.

Thank you for your patience.
